Hi, I’m Chad!
Engineer, Motor Sports Enthusiast, and Boundary-Breaker
I’m a 48-year-old with the mind of an engineer, a lifelong passion for the roar of motor sports, and a deep love for the quiet patience of fishing. For years, I was the support beam for my family, the person everyone called when something needed fixing or when a friend needed a helping hand. Whether I was under the hood of a car or helping a neighbour, my life was defined by my mechanics, my movement, and my commitment to the people around me.
In late 2024, I faced a diagnosis that challenged everything I knew about my own strength. After a complex surgery and a journey through rehab that tested my limits, I’m now focused on my most important project yet: rebuilding my independence. This isn't just about recovery, it’s about reclaiming the man who loves the race track and the workshop. I’m here to prove that while a diagnosis might change your path, it doesn't have to change who you are.

-
His love for food hasn't wavered. Using adaptive cutlery, Chad is not only feeding himself but holding his support team to a high standard, rating every meal and making sure everyone "ups their cooking game.
-
Tapping into his passion for mechanics, Chad’s physical therapy sessions are focused on rebuilding his internal engine. He has moved from complete immobility to taking supported steps, defying the odds with every stride.

The Story of Growth & Grit
Every day for Chad is a masterclass in determination. Recovery is not just about the big milestones. It is about the quiet and difficult work that happens between the gym walls and the therapy sessions. It is a process of rewiring by taking the shattered connections in the brain and meticulously rebuilding them through repetition and grit.
When specialists suggested his progress might hit a ceiling, Chad decided to build a ladder instead. He treats his recovery with the same precision he once applied to engineering. He is testing his limits, refining his movements, and analysing every small win.
Alongside a dedicated team of physiotherapists and speech pathologists, Chad is proving that a diagnosis is just a starting point and not a finish line. He refuses to settle for good enough. He pushes through the fatigue and the setbacks because he knows that every rep, every word, and every step is a deposit into the future he is building for himself.
